A lead comes in
Your enquiry form sends what the customer typed straight to your lead board.
This is what Stringline does at each step. What you put in at one step flows to the next. Every step links into the detail.
Your enquiry form sends what the customer typed straight to your lead board.
Tap your measurements in on site and the price is calculated from your rates, with your usual charges and discounts already on it.
Your customer opens it on their phone, ticks any options you offered and accepts it on the spot, and you see the moment they opened it.
The moment they accept, the deposit invoice is created at the percentage level you set from the quote.
One click turns the accepted quote into a job with its hours on it, and it lands on the crew board waiting for someone to be put on it.
The crew clock on and off from their device in Stringline, and on the way out they can say which quoted item they were on.
Work the customer asks for that was not on the quote is priced off the same price book, sent while you are still there, and goes on the job once they accept it.
Marking the job done compares the hours clocked against the items you quoted, and your price book calculates any shortfalls. You can choose to alter your rates if you want.
The final invoice builds itself from the quote and the extra work, less whatever has already been billed, and any discount you gave on the quote comes across with it.
Your customer pays by card from the invoice link and the money lands in your Stripe account, and with Xero connected the payment comes back to Stringline and the chasing stops.
While all that is going on, the lead moves along the board on its own: quote sent, quote opened, accepted, job started, job finished, invoice sent, invoice paid. If you would rather move a particular stage yourself, turn that one off.
Three pages for anybody who wants the detail behind the steps above: what the price book is made of, what the crew board does all week, and how the last invoice works itself out.
Steps one to four. The enquiry form, the price book, templates, the measure-up, and the quote coming back accepted with the deposit raised.
Read itSteps five to eight. The job off the quote, the crew board, clocking on, orders to your supplier, and what the hours teach your rates.
Read itThe last two steps. Deposits and progress claims, the balance worked out for you, card payments, and Xero both ways.
